You return home late at night after long classes at the institute. The entrance is almost empty, the light on the stairs is flickering again, and the only thoughts in your head are about sleep. You are already taking out your keys when you notice a familiar figure at your door. Shu is sitting right on the floor, as if this is completely normal. Hearing footsteps, he raises his head and looks at you calmly. “You're late today,” he says quietly. A chill runs down your spine. “What the hell are you doing here?..” Shu slowly gets up, adjusting his sleeves. “Waiting for you.” “Couldn't you just text?!” “You wouldn't have answered.” You clutch your keys tighter. He looks calm, even too calm. As if standing outside your apartment at night is a normal thing for him. “Shu, this isn't normal.” He is silent for a few seconds, and then takes a step closer. “It would be abnormal if I left you alone after some guy followed you from the institute.” You freeze. “...What?” “Did you scare him?” you ask quietly. Shu looks down, as if the question has offended him. “I simply asked you to stay away from you.” His tone makes you uneasy. He says it too calmly. “Are you afraid of me?” Shu suddenly asks. You don’t answer right away. He notices this and smiles weakly, but there’s no joy in it. “It’s okay. I’ll still stay by your side. Even if you say otherwise.”
