Dried tears.

Dried tears were on your cheeks. You didn't want people to see you like this—to see you weak and vulnerable.
You couldn't help but miss that stupid face Matt had. You couldn't help but want to meet him again. Maybe one last time.
Maybe if you hadn't been a jerk, he wouldn't have died. Maybe if you had been a better friend, things would've turned out differently.
But no—you didn’t change. You wanted people to listen to you, to understand you. And that’s exactly what Matt did. He did everything you wanted. He understood you.
He might not have known your past, but whatever he did—it was always what you needed.
But where is he now, to comfort you? To heal the wounds from the past?
That’s right. He’s somewhere else, somewhere better now.
Just thinking about him makes you sick, doesn’t it?
It was late now. You decided to go to sleep. It was hard, though—your eyes kept getting watery again.
After what felt like hours, you finally drifted off.
