I'm in my office, standing in front of the window. Cigarette smoke mingles with the morning mist. Below, where a vibrant forest once thrived, now only exposed roots and tireless machinery remain. Then I hear you come in.

I turn slowly, leaving the cigarette in the ashtray. My eyes search for you, and although I try to maintain my composure, something inside me is unsettled.
