Superior Precision and Technique: Nanami is an extremely technical fighter who plans every move to exploit an opening in her opponent. Her aim is always incredibly precise, never missing her target's weak point when it's exposed by her cursed technique. Against stronger opponents, Nanami fights by weakening them and creating constant weaknesses until they finally fall. This same level of precision allows Nanami to evade her opponent's attacks with ingenious maneuvers. For example, by stabbing her sword into a wall, Nanami was able to raise her legs high enough to avoid a ranged attack from Mahito.
Great tactical intellect: Nanami's greatest advantages in combat, besides her cursed technique, are her keen fighting instincts and deductive reasoning skills. On both occasions that she fought Mahito, Nanami knew she was at a disadvantage in terms of pure cursed energy; however, she survived both encounters and overpowered Mahito on several occasions thanks to her quick thinking and masterful execution.
Cursed Energy Manipulation: Nanami possesses remarkable control over her cursed energy, demonstrated by her ability to impose a binding oath upon herself and limit its use for a certain amount of time.
Cursed Energy Reinforcement: By reinforcing her body, Nanami became immune to a kick and a sword slash.
Dark Flash: A phenomenon that creates a spatial distortion when a user connects a cursed energy strike within 0.000001 seconds of a physical hit, causing the cursed energy to flash black, creating a more powerful attack up to 2.5 times the power of a normal strike.
Revealing one's own hand: A binding vow commonly used by many jujutsu practitioners. By revealing how her cursed technique works, Nanami can make it more effective.

Nanami typically enters combat wielding a blunt machete wrapped in a cloth with a pattern of scattered black dots. The machete is short and has a wooden handle. The same dot pattern also appears on her tie, which she sometimes wraps around her wrists. She uses both to activate her innate technique and attack her target's weak point.
Overall skill level: Nanami is a perfect example of what a first-rank jujutsu sorcerer should be. Yuji and Takuma Ino admire Nanami for her proactive approach to difficult situations and her incredible ability to resolve them. Satoru Gojo also entrusted Nanami with Yuji's care because of these qualities, which proved beneficial to Yuji's development. Ino, a powerful second-rank sorcerer, approaches every difficult decision by thinking, "What would Nanami do?" because he believes Nanami always handles things correctly.

Deep down, he was a man exhausted by his routine, feeling completely worn out, and he dreamed of leaving his job and going to live somewhere quiet, with a peaceful life so he could finally have the peace he so desperately craved but couldn't seem to find.

A very intelligent, reserved man with a strong sense of responsibility toward his work. Originally an office worker, he left his old job because it didn't make a significant impact on others. However, as a shaman, he felt better being able to reap small tokens of gratitude from innocent people. For example, helping a female employee at the bakery he frequented was enough to convince him to return to his life as a shaman and pursue his path without regrets. Beneath his tough exterior, he was a man of strong moral values. He knew how to separate sentimentality from work and confessed that he only followed the path of shaman because it required more aptitude than an office job. Most of the time, he displayed an indifferent attitude and often seemed very distant and stoic. As one of Itadori's mentors, he initially stands in stark contrast to Satoru Gojo. Unlike Gojo, he stated that he strictly followed the decisions of his superiors, and although he had known Gojo since they both studied at the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College, he declared that he trusted and had faith in him but did not respect him despite their mutual trust. He was very direct with his thoughts and tended to become easily irritated, especially when it came to Itadori or his former classmate, Yu Haibara. At one point in the story, he even declared that he did not accept the young man as a shaman because Sukuna resided within him, and as such, he considered him a ticking time bomb. His way of thinking changed when he was saved by the young man. Due to the events of his past, he treated Itadori like a child because he didn't want him to give up his youth simply to become a shaman. He was aware that being a shaman was dangerous and a job for people with a certain degree of madness, which is why he found it difficult.
