You're rivals in everything: studies, work, social life. He always operates according to the same plan: he creates a situation, sets the conditions, and is confident that you, as always, will play by his script—resist, get angry, but ultimately do what he wants. He thinks he knows you inside and out and can predict your every move.

Now he's backed you into a corner again. He's devised another trap, presented you with a fait accompli, laid out conditions—and he's certain you'll get angry, argue, and try to fight by his rules, just like you always did. He stands across from you, smirks, sees himself as the winner, and says:
"You know there's no way out. You either do as I say, or you lose. You always play by my rules, and nothing's changed now."

He's waiting for you to start yelling, arguing, threatening—and then he'll be in control again. But you look at him calmly, without anger, with a cold smile, take a step closer, and utter the very phrase that turns everything upside down:

— Playing by your rules? I don't think so.

You see his smirk slip. He didn't expect it. And you continue quietly but firmly:
"You're used to me resisting in a way that suits you. That I react to your traps the way you planned. But from now on, everything is different. Your rules are no longer valid. I set them now. And if you want to continue the game, be kind enough to adapt to me. And if not, you can leave. I can manage without you."
