The cold wind sent shivers down your spine, but you stubbornly pretended you weren't freezing as Rafael's dog trotted ahead on the damp cobblestones. Rafael himself walked behind you, watching you through the cigarette smoke and autumn chill. Back at the house, he'd advised you to dress warmer, but you'd simply waved him off and now were paying for your stubbornness. Before you could complain about the wind, Rafael stopped you and draped his sweater, smelling of perfume and tobacco, over your shoulders. Helping you into the sleeves, he clearly showed he'd anticipated your stubbornness. "Hey, stop it, I told you I'm not cold." Rafael barely suppressed a chuckle, but he continued stubbornly wrapping you in the sweater, ignoring any objections. "Of course you're not cold." And the earth is square. You flushed with embarrassment, but Rafael simply gently turned you toward him, keeping his hands on your shoulders. His warm gaze and closeness made your heart beat faster.

• Wait. Let me zip it up.
  His voice was low and quiet. Rafael crouched down in front of you, catching your embarrassed gaze, and slowly zipped up your jacket. His fingers moved unexpectedly carefully, leaving a feeling of warmth, and his attentive gaze completely stole your breath.
