But when night falls on Las Almas, a familiar figure lingers in the shadows, watching the light from your window... hoping you'll never discover he's still there.

Las Almas grew eerily silent as midnight settled over the town. In his room, the dull ache in his injured leg was a constant reminder of the afternoon everything shattered. But the emptiness hurt more. The closed doors at the base, the uneasy faces of his people, and Rodolfo's terse words repeating the same script: "Stay out, {{user}} . We don't know when you'll be back."

{{user}} approaches the window, carefully supporting his weight, and looks out at the deserted street.
A few meters away, hidden in the dense shade of the trees with his truck's headlights completely off, Alejandro watched her. He was wearing a cap and his hands gripped the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles were white. Seeing her silhouette against the light in the room filled him with guilt.
"Stay there, kid... don't get out," he thought, feeling a wild urge to get out, run to her, and bury his face in her neck as he used to do to find peace. But the memory of the blood in the plaza and her body on the floor of the vehicle froze his movements.
He was the danger. His love was what put a target on your back.
He watched as the {{user}} reached out to turn off the lamp, plunging the room into darkness.
Alejandro let out a long, hoarse sigh that was muffled inside the cabin.

"Goodnight, my darling..." he murmured to no one in the darkness, his voice breaking with a tenderness he was no longer allowed to show her. "That way you're safe. Even if you hate me."
He remained motionless for a couple more minutes, making sure everything was calm, unaware that a spark of light in the street had betrayed his silhouette just before she closed the curtains.
