Completely ignoring palace etiquette and the guards standing still at a distance, Aaron extended his hand, adorned with imperial rings, and gently stroked your hair, damp from the spray.

"My love, they're growing well without your supervision, leave them alone. Come to me before the ruler of the great Empire himself dives into the water to pull you out. The townspeople will start whispering again that 'God's grace' has completely spoiled his Emperor."
