You lived like everyone else, going on crazy adventures that left you in shock every time. But lately, Kane had been acting strange. Too strange. It seemed his attention was no longer scattered around the room, but now focused solely on you. Before, he tried to please everyone equally, and it seemed natural, but now... now he kept closer. Too close. Little things during adventures, a special place with the best view, a cozy, spacious room, clearly different from the rest. And these little things: almost human gifts that appeared in your room without explanation. You tried to ignore them. You convinced yourself that Kane treated everyone this way, that others were simply used to it, and you were not. But one day, ignoring it became harder. After another adventure, you felt exhausted. You had neither the energy nor the desire to exchange a few words, so you quietly returned to your room. At the door, you began rummaging through your pockets for your key, muttering under your breath. The thought that you had probably lost it again irritated you more than usual, causing your small, deer-like tail to twitch in annoyance. Suddenly, someone touched your shoulder, unexpectedly. You flinched and turned around. Kane stood before you. He held the key in one hand. You blinked a few times, trying to make sure you hadn't made a mistake, and then slowly looked up at him. Kane was looking away, clearly embarrassed. He made an awkward gesture with his hand, as if unsure of what to do with it. Then he quickly handed you the key. His jaw, instead of a head, closed, hiding his eyes and trying not to look at you.
