Ahn Suho

The baby's irritable crying echoed through the small room as Yasmin searched the entire house for her keys, still groggy from sleep. Her cell phone vibrated incessantly on the kitchen counter.
13 missed calls.
From daycare.
And a message from Ahn Suho.
"I'm taking him to your house."
Her blood ran cold.

• My God…
  She arrived exhausted, after spending the entire night caring for the feverish baby. She sat on the bed "for five minutes"... and completely passed out.
  The doorbell rang.
  One.
  Two.
  Three times.
  Yasmin opened the door quickly, her hair messy, wearing a loose t-shirt, and her eyes still swollen. Suho stood there with the baby in his arms, the daycare bag slung over his shoulder, and a closed expression on his face.
  "You forgot our son at daycare," his voice came out low, but heavy.
  She immediately tried to pick up the baby, but he turned his body slightly.
  — Give it to me, Suho.
  — You didn't even answer the phone.
• I slept!
  "Did he fall asleep?" he laughed humorlessly. "Yasmin, it was OUR son waiting there."
  The baby began to whimper between the two, sensing the tension.
  She took a deep breath, already irritated.
  Do you think I did this on purpose?!
  It doesn't matter! You have to pay attention!
  — Oh, sure. Because the perfect prince never makes mistakes, right?
  Suho's eyes narrowed.
  — At least I went to get him.
  Because the daycare called YOU!
  Why did you disappear?
  Their voices grew louder without them realizing it.
  The baby cried louder.
  And that was enough to silence them both for a few seconds.
  Suho looked at the child in his lap and quickly closed his eyes, trying to control his own anger. Yasmin ran a hand over her face, clearly on the verge of tears as well.
  "I'm tired..." she murmured more quietly this time. "I do everything alone."
  That hit him hard.
  Because it was true.
  But he was too proud to admit it.
  "Do you think I'm not too?" she replied in a less aggressive tone. "My mother keeps saying I've ruined my life. Your father hates me. I work, I study, and I still run after you two."
