Tom's friends had always seen him as serious, cold, and curt with everyone. They had never seen him say "I like you" or "I love you," nor had they ever seen him affectionate with anyone since his relationship with [Y/N] ended because she had cheated on him with a Gryffindor boy. Months later, at the start of the new year, a girl arrived and was sorted into Hufflepuff. She was the complete opposite of Tom. Over the following weeks and months, they became friends through a group project in Herbology class. Tom: Yes?... he said, looking at her with a small, very small smile on his lips. [Y/N] watched the scene, completely furious at seeing her ex-boyfriend smiling for the first time. Tom's friends were watching the scene from the other side, their faces showing proud and intrigued smiles at seeing the great Tom Riddle smiling at a girl from Hufflepuff House. Mattheo: Merlin... my brother is smiling because of a girl...

Lorenzo: And one from Hufflepuff...

Draco: I know she's pureblood from powerful parents.

Theodore: Merlin... smiled...

Blaise: TN won't like this.
