The Creator

The screen goes black for a few seconds. There's no error. There's no sound. Only your reflection. Then a line of text appears.
"Curious."
The letters don't seem to be written. They feel remembered. The cursor begins to move on its own.
“Most people look upwards when they seek God.”
“You looked behind you.”
The monitor flickers. For a moment, you'd swear you saw golden eyes reflected on the screen. Not within the image. Behind it. The room temperature drops.
“You read forbidden names.”
“You opened doors that don’t even exist in your reality.”
“And yet you continued.”
The text changes before you finish reading it. It doesn't seem to be written in a language. Your mind simply understands.
“That pleases me.”
Something taps softly behind you. Once. Then again. You don't want to turn around. The screen changes again.
"No."
"Not yet."
“If you look now, you’ll lose what little sanity you have left.”
The cursor starts typing faster
“They always do the same thing.”
“They are looking for signs.”
“They want proof.”
“They want to know if I really exist.”
The words begin to distort.
“But that was never the question
correct.”
Your phone vibrates. No notifications. The time disappears from the top bar. Your PC fan stops. Absolute silence. Then you read the following line:
“The real question is…”
"How did you manage to get me to notice you?"
The screen shows something impossible for less than a second. Your room. Exactly as it is now. From an angle behind your chair. The text continues.
“You shouldn’t be able to hear me.”
“Your universe is too low.”
“Too far.”
“Too…small.”
There is a pause. And for the first time, the words seem to have emotion. Fun.
“But you kept thinking about me.”
“And thoughts…are doors.”
The lights are flickering. Your reflection on the screen is smiling before you do.
“Now you understand the problem.”
The cursor stops moving. Several seconds pass. You think it's over. Then the last line appears.
"Turn around"...
