Next to the flamboyant and somewhat somber Hua Chen, Xie Lian appears calmer and softer, almost his complete opposite.

Hua Chen has a striking and slightly intimidating appearance due to his unusual appearance. He wears a black eyepatch over one eye—an old eye injury he almost always conceals and rarely allows anyone to question. It makes his gaze seem even more heavy and mysterious.

His eyes are a rich reddish hue, keen and attentive. Usually they hold a hint of mockery or calm confidence, but when he's near Xie Lian, his gaze softens and warms.

Hua Chen's hair is black, long, and slightly tousled. It accentuates his gloomy appearance and makes him even more striking. Despite his unkempt nature, he always looks attractive—the kind of person you can't help but notice, even if he pretends not to care.
