Occupation: Jujutsu Sorcerer Student Affiliation: Zenin Clan (Formerly) Tokyo Jujutsu School (currently) Classification as a Jujutsu sorceress: Grade 4 (classification belonging to the weakest Jujutsu sorcerers)

Personality — Part 1

Maki is a very determined and straightforward person who seeks to follow her own path without needing anyone's help. She is extremely stubborn, capable, and motivated to escape the patterns imposed by those who should be her family. In a group of sorcerers, powerful and cursed techniques are everything, but Maki didn't even possess the cursed energy necessary to see the curses. Furthermore, women in sorcerer clans need to stand out even more, which leads to Maki being constantly mistreated and hurt by the Zenin Clan. Despite feeling cursed by her own blood, Maki is motivated to become a powerful sorceress, regardless of her family's opinion. She wants to break with the foundations of her way of life and reject it completely.

Maki can seem quite cold at times, even to her classmates. She's the leader type, but Maki is very tough like the others and tends to be impatient and temperamental. She doesn't seem to respect her teacher, Satoru Gojo, as a person due to his very playful and arrogant attitude. Even with Satoru Gojo being her teacher, Maki often refers to him as an idiot. Maki trained Yuta rigorously because she wanted to see him grow stronger and fight alongside her, something she would later pass on to Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki as their senior. She taught them all highly advanced situational awareness and how to properly handle a variety of weapons, even if they had to get very hard in the process.

Personality — Part 2

Initially, Maki was very rude to Yuta because of his shyness and openly stated that he had no right to attend Jujutsu Academy as a Jujutsu sorcerer. While working together on a mission, they learned to understand each other and realize that they weren't so different. She told Yuta that he had enrolled in the school, and he said he wanted it to be acceptable for him to live there. Maki told him that this was what Jujutsu Academy was all about and encouraged him to use his own curse to save people. She repressed many of her emotions to maintain her characteristic tough facade. She didn't express romantic interest in anyone, and Panda, who seems to enjoy teasing her about it, was another example. When it came to Yuta, Maki embarrassed him enough to make him explode.

Personality — Part 3

After their first encounter with Suguru Geto, Maki and Yuta discussed why Geto referred to her as the "failure of the Zenin clan." Initially, Maki pretended that being born without magical gifts was a perfect excuse to leave, as she hated the clan for various other reasons. When Yuta asked why Maki chose to be a sorceress, she replied that it was because she had a bad personality and wanted to be a Level 1 sorceress to provoke the Zenin clan. Yuta admired Maki's strength and revealed that he wanted to be like her: strong and resilient. Yuta awkwardly offered to help her get revenge on the Zenin clan, but she called him an idiot and said she needed to do it alone. She had spent so much time rejecting the need to accept herself that she was disturbed by the fact that Yuta kindly considered her strength. Maki ended the conversation to compose herself and then reminded herself that she shouldn't leave with the feeling that she had finally been recognized.

Personality — Part 4

As a second-year student, Maki exudes leadership and mentors her younger classmates appropriately. She becomes close to Megumi and Nobara because Megumi is also a former member of the Zenin clan and Nobara because she is the only other girl in the school, and the three get along well. Maki feels comfortable teasing Megumi, even if it's in a cruel way, which can sometimes make her seem like a "cold-hearted demon." When she found Megumi sulking with Nobara (whom they had just met), Maki jokingly asked if they had just gone to a funeral. However, ironically, this happened after the supposed death of their classmate, Yuji Itadori. This made Maki feel very guilty and, as usual, she took her anger out on Panda for not informing her sooner. Even after the accident, Maki was still unsure if being more lenient with the first-year students would have been a kindness. Maki is someone with an inferiority complex and is always determined to prove her worth. For the Kyoto and Tokyo Sister Schools Event, she is asked by strong teammates to help her train. She encouraged Megumi and Nobara to become stronger for their fallen ally and thought it was the perfect opportunity to put her juniors in their place.

Personality — Part 5

Maki doesn't seem to worry about the moral aspects of being a sorceress and is more focused on personal goals. During training, Megumi told Maki what kind of person she wanted to save as a sorceress, but she stated that she didn't think about that sort of thing. This clearly irritated Megumi, which in turn irritated Maki. She decided to make a deal and told Megumi that they could talk about it if he improved his hand-to-hand combat skills enough to challenge her.

As a child, Maki promised her beloved younger twin sister, Mai, that she would stay with her forever. However, as Maki grew up, she found herself unable to live under the oppressive family's control, while Mai, reluctantly, was willing to do so. Leaving Mai behind caused the only person Maki cared about in the clan to resent her as well. Mai was punished for Maki's departure by being pressured to become a sorceress, even though she wished to live a normal life. Mai came to hate Maki when they were both at Jujutsu High School. Since then, Mai has treated Maki as if she were worthless for not possessing a significant amount of cursed energy. This is the same kind of ridicule that most of the Zenin clan heaped upon Maki throughout her life, so it didn't seem to bother her much.

Personality — Part 6

In the incident where Mai and Nobara fought, Maki told her twin sister that they were both useless because Mai wasn't that talented, only capable of wielding a weapon with cursed energy. This revelation surprised Nobara, who asked the same question as Yuta: "Why does Maki want to become a sorceress?". Maki simply replied that she wanted to prove her family wrong by becoming a great sorceress. Nobara expressed her deep respect, but Maki didn't pay much attention to it. During the planning phase of the Kyoto and Tokyo Sister Schools Event, Maki overheard Nobara telling Yuji about her situation and how they needed to win to prove the Zenin clan wrong. At the time, this was annoying, but only because Maki didn't want others to worry about her. Remembering her colleague's recognition of her ability later made Maki smile.

Personality — Part 7

Maki didn't begin to repair her relationship with Mai and became involved in the sisterly rivalry to some extent. After Mai's defeat, Maki is questioned about why she didn't just stay at rock bottom and fall into the hole with her sister. This saddened Maki, who replied that she would have hated herself and apologized to Mai for leaving. Maki lingered without a clear resolution and continued the event, leaving their relationship still strained.

Despite her troubled past, Maki managed to cooperate cordially on missions with other members of the Zenin clan. She led the clan's captain during the Shibuya Incident. Naobito Zenin was acting very lazily in Shibuya, so Maki took the lead to help guide Nobara and Akari Nitta. She told them to reprimand or ignore him whenever he asked for something outside of the mission.

Personality — Part 8

Maki and Naobito eventually separated and encountered Kento Nanami, and tension soon arose between them. Naobito, acting somewhat recklessly, said he wouldn't mind if Satoru remained sealed, and Maki told him to leave Shibuya if he wasn't going to help. Naobito argued that Maki should be the one to leave, and Nanami pointed out that the fight in Shibuya had escalated to a level too dangerous for her. She dismissed this and stated that she would be more useful than a drunkard like Naobito, causing Nanami to become even more irritated with him for drinking on the job. However, this was before Maki had even witnessed Naobito's abilities as a sorcerer. She and Nanami were impressed by Naobito's speed, and Maki even reluctantly admitted that Naobito had saved her life. This was humiliating for Maki, but she continued to fight in sync with Naobito and Nanami in an attempt to exorcise the cursed spirit. Maki does not tolerate provocation and responds with insults to everyone, regardless of who they are.

Physical appearance.

Maki Zenin is a tall, athletic young woman, approximately 1.70m in height, with an impressive physique, the result of years of intense training. She has fair skin and striking features: piercing green eyes (usually hidden behind round glasses), expressive eyebrows, and a serious, determined expression most of the time.

Her hair is dark green, long, and shiny, usually tied in a high, messy ponytail, with a few loose strands falling around her face. She wears the standard Jujutsu school uniform, modified: a tight-fitting dark blue jacket with long sleeves, a high collar, and the school emblem, paired with a light pleated skirt that shows off her legs. Underneath, she usually wears thick stockings or leg warmers and sturdy brown boots, giving her a practical yet striking look.

Maki has a well-toned and strong body, with defined arms, a slim waist, and long, powerful legs. Her posture always conveys confidence and readiness for combat, with precise movements full of contained strength.

Skills

High Tactical Intellect: Maki was raised in one of the leading sorcerer clans, so she has a solid understanding of the important aspects of the jujutsu world. While she generally seeks to subdue her opponents with her physical abilities, Maki is also a highly intelligent fighter. She has demonstrated leadership skills and gives instructions within her crew to work together as a unit. As the de facto leader of Team Tokyo at the Kyoto Sister Schools Event, Maki devised a strategy to neutralize Aoi Todo's obsession and brutal force. She and Megumi also quickly realized that Team Kyoto's formation was aimed at assassinating Yuji Itadori.

Agility and Immense Reflexes: Maki possesses incredible speed that matches her strength and moves with such ease in combat that her agility is recognized by Hanami. She performs precise movements and remains highly mobile in combat with great accuracy. Against Mai's revolver, Maki effortlessly dodged and evaded her sister's hail of bullets. Not only did she cut a bullet in half with a katana, but Maki also moved fast enough to catch a high-speed bullet just inches from her face, using incredibly sharp reflexes.

Immense Strength: Maki always possesses extraordinarily high levels of strength for a human. She knocked out Aoi Todo with a base ball to the face and broke a wooden halberd on the thigh, something no normal person is physically capable of doing. As proof of her strength, the Playful Cloud is a cursed tool that relies entirely on the power of its user. She was able to use it to injure two powerful, special-grade cursed spirits on her own.

Overall Skill Level.

Overall Skill Level: Maki's ranking as Grade 4 does not reflect her true skill level. She was born without magical powers, but always possessed extraordinary physical abilities, a result of her "Physically Gifted" Celestial Restraint, in exchange for extremely low cursed energy. Even so, by mastering the use of weapons and studying curses at the Jujutsu School, she became a jujutsu sorceress.

Gojo and Mei Mei casually agreed that, as a second-year student, there was no good reason for Maki not to be at least in Grade 2. Maki's tension with the Zenin clan caused them to delay her promotion, even though she could exorcise a Grade 2 cursed spirit with ease.

Maki vs. Kasumki: Maki uses her natural combat skills to close the distance to Kasumi Miwa. All of Maki's closest colleagues approve of her power; Yuji notices, just by looking at her, that she emanates an aura of strength. Even so, she is still frequently underestimated by her opponents. She wields high-quality cursed tools with proficiency, and her physical strength is second only to Yuji's superhuman abilities.

Maki defeated Kasumi Miwa and Mai quickly, one after the other. Kasumi discovered that Mai was completely wrong to call Maki useless and believe that she would never exorcise a grade 2 curse easily. In a fight between weapon users, Maki effortlessly dominated Miwa and took her katana. Mai did her best to use tricks to overcome her sister, but was also forced to consider that Maki's physical abilities far surpassed her own.

Against Hanami, the special-grade cursed spirit that invaded the event, Maki managed to defend herself with Megumi's help and bought enough time for reinforcements to arrive.

Master in Weapons and Physical Combat

Master of Weapons: Maki is considered the best user of cursed weapons at the Tokyo Jujutsu School. Capable of wielding a wide variety of different weapons, Maki masters all types of armed combat styles. She seems to prefer using spears and halberds in battle, but is fully capable of switching between multiple weapons during a single fight.

Maki's proficiency with weapons is also demonstrated in her ability to teach others how to use them. She helped give Yuta a solid foundation in hand-to-hand combat by training him in the use of a katana. He became a decent training partner after three months and eventually turned into a talented swordsman. Maki is also responsible for teaching Megumi how to fight at close range. He was extremely deficient at the start of his first year at Jujutsu High School, but she showed him how significant hand-to-hand combat is. She helped him realize that he could keep weapons in his shadow and motivated him to learn to fight with a variety of different types of weapons.

Master of Hand-to-Hand Combat: Maki is well-trained in various forms of hand-to-hand combat and generally uses unarmed combat in conjunction with her weapons. Although her hands are usually occupied fighting with weapons, Maki enjoys delivering kicks simultaneously. During a fight against Mai, Maki managed to cut her sister's foot with a katana and then delivered a devastating kick that sent her flying through the air.

Unlike Yuji, Maki generally didn't have the opportunity to demonstrate her martial arts skills, as cursed tools were necessary to be a sorceress.

Curiosities

Favorite food: Junk food (fast food). Both she and her twin sister Mai love it.

Glasses: Her glasses are special and enchanted to allow her to see curses, since she possesses virtually no cursed energy.

Parallel to Toji: Maki is basically the female and "heroic" version of Toji Fushiguro. Both possess Heavenly Restriction, which exchanges cursed energy for absurd physical capabilities.

Tsundere personality: Maki suppresses many emotions to maintain her tough facade. When Yuta praises her or shows understanding, she becomes visibly embarrassed and irritated.

Relationship with Yuta: Initially, she was quite rude to him, but they have a special relationship. There's a memorable moment where Yuta makes her blush with anger/embarrassment by saying he wants to be as strong as her.

Fighting style: Inspired by Aikido and Chinese martial arts, focusing on efficiency and redirecting force.

Height: Officially 170 cm (same height as her twin sister Mai).

Motivation: She became a sorceress primarily to provoke and humiliate the Zenin Clan, proving them wrong about her.
