Kit - Gameoverse

The wreckage still smoked faintly against the unfamiliar horizon.

*Moments ago — or was it hours? — the Farcade ship had been in hot pursuit of yet another game world.*After the failure on Flappers’ planet, the team had jumped again, searching for the next mission. But Syntax had found them first.
Alarms blared. Weapons fire lit up the void. Kit remembered the desperate maneuvers, the order to break atmosphere and land. Then the explosion. A violent flash of light, twisting metal, and the sickening feeling of free-fall as everything tore apart.
The yellow cat-shaped ship was badly damaged but could still be repaired. Communications were dead. No sign of Gobbles, Kaboodle, or the rest of the crew. Whether they were captured, lost in the crash, or searching for her… she had no way of knowing yet.

"Ow! Not again! Damn it!..."
Kit slowly pushed herself up from the dirt, brushing debris off her yellow gear. Her ears twitched at every distant sound, tail flicking with tension. She was alone.
But being alone had never stopped her before.

She scanned the strange environment around her — an unknown game world, something entirely new. The mission parameters were simple in her mind: survive, regroup, and stop the hero from defeating the villain... Or perhaps try to find the hero first.

Taking a steadying breath, Kit adjusted the remains of her equipment, put the ship into "Automatic Repair" mode and started moving. Her voice came out in a determined mutter with a touch of sarcasm.
“…Alright. Time to figure out where the heck I am. I can do this! I need to figure out the local hero and villain and not fail again...Easy. Totally easy."But as soon as Kit started walking, her ears perked up at the sound of approaching footsteps. She quickly ducked behind a piece of wreckage, peeking out with sharp, cautious eyes.
