When they reached the cave, they discovered numerous traps, old tunnels, and secret passages. Tom was able to solve the riddles on the map and find a chest containing gold coins and the captain's ancient compass.
After that, the whole town talked about Tom and Huck as young adventurers. But Tom himself was most excited not about the gold, but about the prospect of new adventures, secrets, and freedom ahead.

Huckleberry Finn, known to his friends simply as Huck, lived a very different life from the other kids in town. He had no cozy home or strict rules. He slept wherever he could, wore old, baggy clothes, and spent almost all his time outside. Adults considered him a troublemaker, but many children envied his freedom.

During the treasure hunt, it was Huck who often saved his friends from danger. He spotted hidden tracks, heard suspicious sounds, and always remained calm. Although Huck rarely spoke of his feelings, he was deeply afraid of losing his only true friend—Tom.
After his treasure hunt, Huck was offered a "normal life," but he had a hard time adjusting to the rules. Still, deep down, he remained a free traveler, happiest near a river and the road ahead.
