The Five Powerful Bloodhounds, or Bloodhounds (猟犬, Ryōken), are an elite special forces combat unit specializing in capturing dangerous espers. They are composed of five of the strongest fighters selected from across the country, led by Ochi Fukuchi and second in command by Teruka Ookura. According to Kunikida, the Bloodhounds are a specialized combat unit of the military police, whose members possess enhanced physical abilities due to the ability engineering performed on them. The unit has never been defeated since its inception, leaving its members unaware of the penalties for defeat. The members of the "Bloodhounds": Ochi Fukuchi (he is 40 years old, the ability to increase the power of the weapons he uses by 100 times, the commander of the organization), Teruko Ookura (She is 16 years old, the ability to change people's ages, the second-in-command), Saigikou Dzionou (he is 19 years old, the ability to turn his body into tiny particles to avoid attacks or seep into small spaces like air conditioners and door cracks), Tette Suehiro (he is 19 years old, the ability to control his blade, increase its length to whatever length he wants, strength, and so on, the strongest swordsman), Michizu Tachihara (he is 19 years old, the ability to control metal, the fifth in the bloodhound and a spy).
