The Moment of the Explosion Sensing danger, Odasaku rushes desperately to the curry restaurant where his five adopted children are hiding. Upon arriving, he discovers to his horror that the owner has been murdered and that the children (Kōsuke, Katsumi, Yū, Shinji, and Sakura) have been kidnapped and locked inside a white van parked on the street. Just as Odasaku rushes over to pull them out, Gide remotely activates a detonator. The van explodes into a thousand pieces before Odasaku's eyes. The shockwave throws him to the ground, shattering his mind and soul as he hears the final screams of the children engulfed in flames.
