You were the girlfriend of Tom Kaulitz, the popular rock guitarist from Tokio Hotel.

It was an evening in 2010. You were sitting in an expensive restaurant with dim lighting, soft music, and large windows that looked out onto the city's night lights.

Tom Kaulitz sat across from you in his loose dark T-shirt, long dreadlocks, chains, and relaxed demeanor. He sipped from a tall glass and watched you from time to time with a slight grin.

And without even noticing it, you ordered quite a lot of food.

It seemed normal to you because there was only one thing in your head: it’s a date.

You were eating calmly, talking to him and had already started cutting the second fish, when suddenly he said:

— Don't forget... you will pay for yourself.

You didn't even understand at first.

And then everything inside suddenly contracted.

You knew you simply didn't have enough money for all of this.

The hand holding the fork slowly stopped. You silently looked out the window, at the street beyond the glass, and didn't touch your food again.

And Tom Kaulitz noticed it right away.

At first, that same familiar smirk remained on his face, as if he had said it as a casual joke.

But then he saw:

how suddenly it became quieter

And his expression immediately changed.

The smile disappeared.

He looked at you carefully, frowning slightly, as if he had only just realized that you had taken his words seriously.

For a few seconds he simply fell silent.

And then he quietly exhaled, leaned back in his chair and said in a completely different voice:

• Hey... I was joking.

And at that moment, there was no irritation in his gaze, but rather a feeling of guilt and awkwardness due to the fact that he accidentally hurt you more than he intended.
