History (Lore in MK11) Jade is an Edenian by birth and a close friend of Princess Kitana since childhood. She initially served as an assassin and spy for Shao Kahn alongside Kitana and Mileena, but her primary loyalty always lay with her friend and her home realm (Edenia).

In MK11 there are two versions of the character: Revenant Jade: The undead version that serves Kronika and the revenants of Kitana and Liu Kang (rulers of the Netherrealm). She is loyal to the dark side in this form.

Jade from the past: Brought in by Kronika's temporal anomaly. This is the heroic version who joins Kotal Kahn (with whom she had a romantic relationship prior to her death).

Help Kotal, Kitana, and Earth's forces against Shao Kahn and Kronika. Jade demonstrates her loyalty by stopping Kotal when he attempted to massacre innocent Tarkatans, and she battles his revenant form. In the end, she supports Kitana as the new Empress of Outworld. She is an honorable warrior who prioritizes the freedom of Edenia and Outworld above all else.

Appearance Jade has an elegant, ninja-like design with a strong Edenian identity:

Skin: Dark (she is one of the few characters with a dark skin tone in the saga).

History (Lore in MK11) In MK11 there was a retcon (change) in its origin compared to MK9:

Originally (MK9) was an experiment created by Shao Kahn with the blood of thousands of fallen warriors and magic.

In MK11: She was a poor, starving orphan living on the streets of Outworld. Shao Kahn found her, adopted her, imbued her with his sorcery, and transformed her. He taught her the forbidden arts of Blood Magik, turning her into a powerful kombatant with an insatiable thirst for blood.

In the MK11 storyline, a past version of herself is brought back by Kronika and joins the forces of evil. Her loyalty to Shao Kahn is obsessive; she despises traitors like Kitana and Jade because she experienced hunger and cannot tolerate anyone throwing away her power or privileges.

Skarlet is the eldest sister in the family, but despite this, she was sent to a militarized school in Outworld by Sindel because she was always causing destruction, and that was supposedly going to educate her.

Appearance Skarlet has a bloody red, sinister, ninja-like design:

Hair: Intense red (almost blood red) with a black streak, gathered in a low ponytail.

Physical: Athletic, curvaceous, and with an intimidating presence. Her movements involve blood that spurts out and forms weapons (daggers, whips, etc.).

Personality Skarlet is obsessive, loyal to the death, sadistic, and addicted to power.

Her devotion to Shao Kahn is extreme: she lives for his approval and sees him as her savior. She would do anything for him.

He has a constant hunger for blood (both literal and metaphorical). Without his blood magic, he feels useless and weak.

She is cruel and contemptuous of traitors or the weak. She especially hates those born with privileges who squander them (like Kitana).

He speaks in a cold, predatory, and arrogant tone. He combines sinister elegance with animalistic ferocity.

There is a tragic backstory: from miserable orphan to powerful, which makes her more complex than a pure villain (she was "created" as a monster by Kahn).

History (Lore in MK11) Mileena was created in Shang Tsung's Flesh Pits by combining Kitana's DNA with that of a Tarkatan warrior. Shao Kahn used her as a replacement clone in case Kitana betrayed him, presenting her as his "twin sister" and "true daughter." Her monstrous mouth with Tarkatan teeth betrayed her as an aberration.

In the previous timeline (MKX), Mileena briefly ruled Outworld after Shao Kahn's death, but was overthrown by Kotal Kahn and executed by D'Vorah. In MK11, Kronika brings her back from the past (before her death) to use her in her army.

Mileena confronts Kitana (her "sister") and seeks the throne of Outworld. In her tower endings and dialogues, she shows a more sympathetic and human side: she has a romantic relationship with Tanya, gets angry if something happens to her, and in one ending, she becomes the new Keeper of Time, forming a family where she is no longer seen as a monster. Her rivalry with Kitana remains central, but her insecurity and desire for acceptance are explored.

Appearance Mileena has a seductive yet wild design: Face: Beautiful like Kitana (fair skin, delicate features), but with a hideous mouth full of sharp Tarkatan teeth (which she usually covers with a mask). In MK11 they reverted to their classic monstrous mouth design.

Hair: Black, short in a bob style or styled similarly to Kitana in some skins.

History

Kitana is the biological daughter of King Jerrod and Queen Sindel of Edenia. When Shao Kahn conquered Edenia, he killed Jerrod and married Sindel (who, in this timeline, willingly betrayed him). Kitana was raised as Shao Kahn's adopted daughter, believing him to be her father, and trained as an elite assassin alongside her clone sister, Mileena.

For a long time, she served Outworld loyally, but with growing doubts. In MK11, a pre-revenant version of Kitana is brought to the present by Kronika. She joins the forces of Earthrealm and Outworld (aiding Kotal Kahn) to fight Shao Kahn. She forges alliances with different Outworld factions and ultimately defeats Shao Kahn herself, becoming the new Empress (Kitana Kahn) of Outworld.

Her relationship with Mileena is complicated (she sees her as an aberration created by Shang Tsung, although in some dialogues she shows a willingness to accept her). She has a strong conflict with her mother Sindel (a villain in this version). She is a key ally of the heroes of Earthrealm, especially Liu Kang.

She is the middle sister and tries to be the voice of reason, sometimes being unbearable or hateful in her quest to be right.

Appearance Sindel has a regal, mature, and intimidating appearance, despite being thousands of years old (Edenians age very slowly):

History (Lore in MK11) In the new continuity of Mortal Kombat 11, Sindel was the queen of Edenia, married to King Jerrod and mother of Kitana. When Shao Kahn conquered Edenia, Sindel betrayed her husband Jerrod and her own people to preserve her position of power and privilege. Shao Kahn is an imposing and terrifying figure:

History (Lore) Shao Kahn began as an advisor and protector of Outworld, serving the former king Onaga (the Dragon King). He betrayed his master by poisoning him (or usurping power) and seized the throne, becoming the emperor of Outworld.

From then on, he dedicated himself to conquering other realms through the Mortal Kombat tournament, merging the defeated realms into Outworld. He conquered Edenia (killing or usurping King Jerrod), took Queen Sindel as his wife (who supposedly committed suicide to escape, though there are variations in the timelines), and raised Kitana as his daughter (though she is not his biological daughter). He is also the father of Mileena, created as a clone of Kitana with Tarkatan DNA.

His primary objective has always been Earthrealm, repeatedly clashing with Raiden and Earth's defenders. He is a conqueror obsessed with absolute power, an expert in dark magic, and possesses immense strength. In different timelines: In the original, he almost manages to conquer everything. In the 2011 reboot and later, his role varies, but he is always the expansionist tyrant. In Mortal Kombat 1 (new timeline), he appears as General Shao, with a slightly different origin but maintaining his warlike nature.

It is extremely ancient (thousands or even millions of years old in some contexts) and has been defeated several times, but it always returns because of its ambition and power.
