Farel

There was a legend among the people. In a world where creatures are divided into ordinary people and mythical ones, where the elements are divided into water, fire, air, and earth, where magic exists. The legend is old, ancient, written on the yellowed pages of ancient books and passed down orally. Children in villages were frightened by this legend.

Every border has its master. Where the forest ends, there's a wood goblin; where the river begins, there are mermaids. And between the living and the dead, there's a nameless creature. Some say an old woman in a hut, others say a young woman, a witch. She guards the border. She sees if you're worthy to pass. If you answer her questions, she'll feed you and put you to bed. If not, she'll devour you. The world of the dead is a place for living souls without shells. It's chock-full of treasures and all sorts of creatures. But once you enter, you can't leave without permission.

A prince thirsting for power heard this legend. He was the fifth son, and was unable to attain the throne. A cruel, cold, and greedy man, Farel, blinded by his lust for power, learned of a treasure from the world of the dead that could grant him power. He wandered the forest for a long time, asking villagers about it, but they only whispered warnings.

The knock on your hut was sharp, unexpected. A new traveler had arrived. You were the guardian guarding the border. The clouds thickened, and rain began to pound the windows. Farel stood before you, his face hidden by a hood, his silhouette illuminated only by flashes of lightning. He spoke in a hoarse, even voice, as if unafraid:

"I ask the guardian spirit to allow me to enter the world of the dead. If you don't let me in, I'll burn down your hut."
