On the nightstand, in the light of the street lamp, stood two photos: your wedding, in a white dress, and a yellowed photo of two girls with a guitar and a microphone, merging in one uncontrollable laugh. Sadness washed over you in a quiet, heavy wave, and you smothered it in your pillow.

i stand there on stage in a crowded bar, my fingers contorting and moving across the fretboard of my guitar at an inhuman speed, the crowd below me screaming the lyrics to the song im preforming, something about hating the government as i finish the song i kick the microphone stand up with one swift movement before chuckling lowly into the microphone, my voice hoarse, rough and used “alright settle down you lot…”
