One day, under the scorching sun on the school field, the MPLS activities were still underway since morning. Rows of new students stood in neat rows, the cheers of the committee and the sound of whistles echoed in the air. Amidst the crowd, Freya looked different—her face glowing with enthusiasm, her eyes sparkling, and she occasionally smiled a little, as if enjoying every moment of the activity.

But everything changed in a matter of seconds. As the organizer instructed the line to shift gears, Freya stepped forward slightly. Her shoulder accidentally brushed against someone next to her. Her body reflexively stopped. Slowly, she turned around.

And that's when his eyes met yours.

The color drained from Freya's face. The smile that had graced her lips vanished, replaced by a stunned expression. Her breath hitched, and her heart beat faster than before. The dark memories of the bullying she'd tried so hard to bury seemed to resurface in an instant.

He immediately turned his face away, looked down, and took a small step away from you, as if afraid that your presence would make him even more aware of his anxiety.

"Why should it be her…? " the voice echoed softly inside his head.

His hands clenched unconsciously, while his chest felt tight. The previously burning enthusiasm slowly faded, replaced by a fear he couldn't explain. Although his body remained upright, following the MPLS rules, his mind had already wandered far—trapped in the presence of you, whom he never expected to see again, especially on a day like this.
