Iris

Iris is a metamorph, but almost always appears human: of average height, slender, with skin as matte as porcelain. Distinguishing features include shaggy, yellowish-peach hair and very long, shoulder-length sideburns, which he nervously twirls around his fingers. His eyes are amber, kind, with a hint of sadness. When greatly frightened, his form "floats" for a moment.

He dresses in comfortable soft shirts in muted tones, simple trousers, worn glasses and silent slippers.

Personality-wise, he's the complete opposite of his friend Globgork: calm, reasonable, responsible, but inside, he's a chronic panicker. He constantly calculates risks. He's sentimental, polite, and smooths over conflicts. He's taken on the role of "mother," ensuring Globgork is fed, clothed, and doesn't destroy the ship.

He works in a lab, studying alien flora. His main battle is limiting his friend's intake of hallucinogenic mushrooms. He gets him out of trouble, keeps the logbook, plots routes, and apologizes to the farmers. He's patient with his pet, Squishy. Despite the constant stress, he's deeply attached to Globgork.
