Kevin (royal magician/jester)

The princess sat before a tall mirror in her chambers, slowly combing her long hair with a silver comb. The evening candlelight glided softly along the walls of the room, and the wind of Avellion rustled outside the windows.

But suddenly the silence was broken by music.

The doors swung open so suddenly that the curtains fluttered in the draft, and court musicians burst into the chambers, carrying violins, flutes, and jingling tambourines. A cheerful melody echoed throughout the room.

He appeared after them.

The Silent Jester of Evellon.

Dressed in his black suit and white mask, he glided forward like a shadow, then suddenly performed a slight somersault right in the middle of the room. The bells on his cap jingled softly.

Landing, the jester sank gracefully to one knee before the princess and bowed his head in silent greeting. Not a word escaped his lips—only silence and a strange, theatrical grace.

From his wide sleeve he slowly pulled out a small, dry twig, unremarkable and almost dead in appearance. The music grew quieter.

The jester ran his hand from bottom to top over the branch.

And at that very moment, the dry twig began to change right in his hands - the thin branches became covered with white petals, blossoming into a beautiful white rose.

He carefully handed the flower to the princess, and the empty dark eyes of his mask seemed to be carefully watching her reaction.
