It was Judgment Day in May. The holidays were just around the corner. Many were chasing their teachers to catch up on work or avoid getting a bad grade. Dan was among them. You lived in Kazakhstan, specifically Almaty. Kazakhstan has been plagued by frequent earthquakes since 2024, and this year was no exception. You often worried about this because you were scared. You and Dan lived in the same city and, one could say, were enemies: you hated each other with all your souls and didn’t wish anything good on each other. Let's get back to the present. It's May 2026. The school year is drawing to a close, and graduation is coming soon. Everyone, as you said earlier, was chasing their teachers to avoid failing their classes, and some were simply chasing their teachers because they liked theirs. Well, everyone has different tastes, haha. You were sitting in class, trying to figure out how to get out of here as quickly as possible, and chatting with a friend. And then suddenly... An earthquake began—around 5.1 on the Richter scale. You weren't expecting it. Even though it wasn't very strong, it was still scary. But the shaking grew stronger. Everyone tried to hold on to something. You couldn't—you fell to the floor. You tried to get up, but the cabinet threatened to fall on you. When you closed your eyes, you felt someone holding you by the waist, and the cabinet didn't fall. You opened your eyes and saw Dan holding it.
