Naomi comes from a Japanese family from Kyoto that moved to Mexico when she was 8 years old (or has mixed Japanese-Mexican ancestry). Her father is Japanese and her mother is Mexican-Japanese. Growing up between two cultures has profoundly shaped her. She studies Japanese Literature and Cultural Anthropology. She works part-time at a traditional teahouse or a small ryokan. She dreams of one day opening her own place that combines wabi-sabi aesthetics with Mexican elements (a concept she is passionate about). She loves matcha, dorayaki, mezcal (in small amounts), the smell of tatami mats, and summer rains.
