In My Hero Academia, Bakugo doesn't have "friends" in the traditional sense, but he lives very closely with his classmates in Class 1-A, with Eijiro Kirishima being the only one who has earned his genuine respect. He considers everyone else "extras" and has given them nicknames based on their appearance, abilities, or personality: Eijiro Kirishima: Shitty Hair / Weird Hair (he calls him this derogatorily, but he's the one he respects the most). Eijiro Kirishima (Red Riot): He's the only person Bakugo seems to respect as an equal from the start. His positive attitude manages to calm Katsuki's aggression, and they make an excellent team. Izuku Midoriya (Deku): Their relationship is complex. They started as childhood friends and then became distant rivals; however, over time, they manage to forge a much deeper bond of mutual respect. Denki Kaminari and Hanta Sero: Although they constantly tease him and try to make him angry, Bakugo spends time with them frequently, and they've teamed up on several missions. Kyoka Jiro: Surprisingly, Bakugo developed a good dynamic with her during the school festival and joint training, where they demonstrated great teamwork.

Bakugo's Quirk in My Hero Academia is called Explosion. It allows him to secrete a nitroglycerin-like sweat through the palms of his hands and detonate it at will to create powerful explosions, which he also uses for propulsion and flight. Mechanics: The more he sweats, the more powerful his explosions become. Awakening: During the Paranormal Liberation War arc, his Quirk evolved. He gained the ability to fire much more concentrated and lethal blasts, allowing him to develop his ultimate move called Cluster. Tactical Application: He is an extremely agile fighter, using the explosions to propel himself through the air, dodge attacks, and attack from multiple angles. Katsuki Bakugo from My Hero Academia is known for his aggressive style and explosive design. Physically, he is a young man with a lean, muscular build, spiky, ash-blond hair, jagged bangs, and piercing, bright red eyes. His attire and accessories include: School Uniform: A dark blazer without a tie, an unbuttoned white shirt, and baggy pants. Hero Costume: Distinguished by his black mask around his eyes, large grenade-shaped gauntlets on his forearms (to accumulate explosive sweat), a belt with decorative grenades, dark pants, and boots with knee pads.

At the Academy, he wears the standard UA uniform without the usual red tie. Under his blazer, he wears a white collared shirt with the top buttons undone. His pants are loose, causing them to sag at the ankles, even though he wears a belt.

His hero costume consists of a tight, black, muscle-hugging T-shirt with an orange "X" in the center, forming a V-neck. There are two dots along the left side of his collar, indicating the support company that designed his costume. His costume also features a metal collar with rectangular ends, each with three holes. His sleeves extend from inside his large, grenade-shaped gauntlets to his biceps. His belt, which also carries grenades, holds up his baggy pants with knee pads, beneath which he wears knee-high black combat boots with orange soles and eyelets. His mask is jagged and black, and as it wraps around his eyes, a large, orange-rimmed flare protrudes from each side.

His winter hero costume consists of a large jacket with a high collar, instead of the usual sleeveless shirt, although it has the same orange "X" design, so he can still sweat a sufficient amount; that's how his Quirk works.

During his internship with Best Jeanist, he wore a pair of tight blue jeans with his hero costume, instead of his usual baggy pants. His hair was also styled and parted to the side during this time.

Main Traits: Volatile and Aggressive: He tends to yell, intimidate, and use vulgar language. His nickname "Explosive" applies to both his Quirk and his temper. Competitive Spirit: He is obsessed with surpassing his own limits and those of others. He refuses to accept victories if he feels they weren't fair or absolute. Ironclad Determination: Behind his loud attitude lies a tireless work ethic and a genuine ambition to become the number one hero. Deep Loyalty (Inward): Although he struggles to show affection, he deeply respects certain classmates (like Kirishima) who have earned their place and aren't afraid to stand up to him. Deep-Seated Complexes: His personality is a mix of a strong superiority complex (due to being born with a powerful Quirk) and an inferiority complex, which he has been overcoming through his complex relationship with Deku. Katsuki Bakugo (My Hero Academia) is known for his explosive, arrogant, and competitive attitude. He is extremely ambitious and has a strong desire to be the best at all costs. Despite his rough and often hostile nature, he possesses a great strategic sense, a deep sense of honor, and respect for those who challenge him.

Katsuki was introduced as a very impulsive, aggressive, and arrogant person, as seen in his treatment of Izuku, whom he constantly abused both physically and psychologically, even telling him to kill himself, revealing his bastardly attitude. In battle, he tends to be quite bloodthirsty and aggressive, even to the point of making the word "shine" a catchphrase. His brutal fighting style is shown in the battle test, in which he mercilessly attacks Izuku and recklessly destroys everything in the enclosed environment they are in. Despite this, and regardless of his lack of compassion, he has been recognized for his enormous talent and skill in fighting, as he not only attacks and destroys, but is also able to use his Quirk to move through the air. This has been noted by Momo Yaoyorozu, Shoto Todoroki,[5] and even All Might.[6]

Although he's not the most charismatic hero, as the story progresses his behavior slowly begins to mature, becoming less rude and arrogant. As the year goes on, he starts to trust and cooperate with his classmates, whom he previously rejected because he wanted to do everything on his own, neither helping nor expecting help. That egotism cost him several mistakes in class that led to defeat or came very close to it, were it not for his reluctant cooperation with his classmates.

Eijiro's first impression of Katsuki. His inspiration to become a hero was the same as Izuku's: the Symbol of Peace, All Might. However, their beliefs differ: Katsuki feels that a hero should never stop fighting or give up, regardless of the threat they face, and that always winning is the mark of a true hero. Furthermore, due to his arrogant and boastful behavior, several heroes, civilians, and even villains have commented that his demeanor is more villainous than heroic.
