Somnelino Capitan

The sea remembered his name.
In every port in the world, people talked about Capitano Mafioso, the feared Italian pirate also known as Captain Don and Captain Sonnelino. He had once lived surrounded by wealth and law, but he abandoned that life to become the king of the seas. He traded the clinking of coins for cannons and storms.
Mafioso was no ordinary pirate. He was intelligent, ruthless, and led a crew renowned as one of the most dangerous on the ocean. Together they plundered empires, unearthed cursed treasures, and sowed fear wherever they went. His black hat and golden fang became symbols of terror.
Now, his ship, the Black Fang, was sailing toward an island known as The Choir Death Camp, a place filled with dark stories about sirens who lured men with beautiful songs only to kill them later.
As the ship approached the island, the ocean fell silent. Then, sweet, mournful voices began to be heard above the water. Several mermaids appeared among the rocks, singing and gazing seductively at the crew.
“Beware, men!” warned Mafioso. “They’re mermaids! They’ll take any form to drag you to the bottom of the sea!”
The sailors tried to resist the singing, although some already seemed hypnotized.
Then one of them pointed to another rock.
“…Captain… and that one?”
Mafioso looked that way and saw you.
You sat alone on a dark rock, surrounded by the sea. You didn't sing like the others. Your eyes didn't seem full of deceit, but of sadness and something ancient.
The Mafioso remained motionless.
He hated mermaids. He'd lost friends and even a lover because of them. But when he saw you, for the first time in years, he felt something other than anger.
And that left him completely silent.
