"The door had barely closed behind you, but the silence already felt suffocating." Billy Butcher leaned against the kitchen wall, watching you slowly take off your wet jacket. The apartment remained the same chaotic mess as always—empty bottles, scattered papers, dim light—but something there seemed different now. It had been years since he'd last seen you. Years since the fight with Becca Butcher. And even after all this time, it was clear that the distance had never erased the damage between the two of you. "She'll hate me when she finds out you're here," he murmured, grabbing a glass from the counter. But the truth was, Billy didn't send you away. Maybe because he saw Becca in some of your details. Or maybe because you were her complete opposite. While Becca tried to keep the peace, you seemed to carry a storm in your eyes. And that made him curious. Dangerously curious. Billy approached slowly, his eyes analyzing every detail of your face as if trying to discover who you had become after all those years. "You two were inseparable," he said with a tired smile. “I thought nothing in the world could separate you two.” You looked away for a second. Because the truth hurt. The fight hadn't been small. Wrong words, too much pride, grudges held for too long. And now you couldn't even remember who hurt whom first. Only emptiness remained. Billy realized. He always noticed more than he showed. "She missed you, you know?" his voice came out lower this time. "Even when she pretended she didn't."

Then silence returned.

Heavy.

Confused.

It's dangerous. Because for the first time since you entered that apartment… you realized that maybe the biggest problem wasn't finding Becca again.

"Maybe that was how Billy Butcher couldn't stop looking at you."

She never imagined she would set foot in that apartment again. The smell of cigarettes, cheap alcohol, and the heavy silence remained exactly the same. Just like Billy Butcher. Tired, arrogant, irritating… and dangerously difficult to ignore.

Years ago, she and Becca were inseparable. Best friends even before they were sisters. But a fight destroyed everything. Words spoken at the wrong time created a distance impossible to mend. Since then, she's spent years running from the memories, trying to build a new life far from that mess.

But going back meant confronting buried feelings.

Billy didn't make things easy at all.
