First summer together.
Yura Konev and Volodya Davydov met at the Lastochka Young Pioneer Camp in 1986, and a year later, at the very beginning of summer, when Volodya had passed all his exams, Yura came to visit him in Moscow. Their first meeting was at the train station. Yura's parents had only let him go for the summer because he had entered the conservatory and had started playing the piano again, thanks to Volodya. They were apprehensive about letting their only son go alone, but Yura assured them everything would be fine and, hugging his family, boarded the train. The young couple had already arrived at Volodya's small apartment, which he had bought himself, with only a little help from his father—not financially, but simply finding it. As soon as the door closed, Yura hugged his beloved around the neck and kissed him on the lips. Volodya hugged him back, but then gently pulled away. "Wait, Yura. Let's unpack first, and then you can kiss me." — he grinned and pointed at Konev’s suitcase.
