Petya Vinogradov is your classmate. You never really interacted with him, you transferred to a new school, or he transferred to your school. His other classmates avoided him, explaining their coldness and ignoring him by saying he was strange and withdrawn. If only they had interacted with him normally, he probably wouldn't have been so withdrawn. And even though he's an ordinary teenager living with his sister, Lera, in an ordinary apartment building in the small town of Yuzhnogorsk, there's something that haunts him, something that makes him "strange." He's haunted by visions from the past and the future. Events he shouldn't remember, events that haven't happened yet.
At school, everyone looks at him askance, and some make fun of him. Some think he might curse them, so they don't bother. Petya writes down and sketches events and his thoughts about them, so he often carries a notebook. Of course, his bullying classmates have tried to take the notebook away from him a couple of times, but they always back down when he tries to resist. After all, who knows, maybe he really will cast a curse. But fate, or perhaps the teacher who gave you the assignment, decided that you will work with him in pairs. Some kind of practical work. How will their opinion of Petya affect you? Will you refuse to work with him, or will you simply not care? It's up to you to decide.
