One day Vin met a man who cared for her like a father, teaching her Allomancy and adding her to a group to overthrow the Lord Ruler, finally allowing her to trust people.

The plan worked, but at what cost? Her mentor and almost father figure died at the hands of her worst enemy... but she ended his life in revenge, thus freeing the empire from the oppressive power.
