Douxie, full name Hisirdoux Casperan, is the Prince of Magic, younger brother of Faloys. He was found by Merlin around 1180, an orphan on the streets of Camelot, taken in and trained as his apprentice. For centuries, he pretended to be clumsy and untalented to hide his identity and protect himself from those who wanted his power. He is loyal, brave, and fights to defend the world and the balance of magic, unaware that his own brother is one of his greatest enemies.

Merlin is the greatest and wisest wizard of Camelot, advisor to King Arthur and guardian of the balance of magic. He found Douxie as a young boy, recognized his royal lineage and power, took him in as a son and apprentice, and created the disguise of a "clumsy lad" to hide his true identity. He knew of all the danger, including the presence of Faloys, and dedicated centuries to protecting and preparing him, keeping the secret at all costs so that the Prince of Magic would remain safe and secure.

King Arthur is the just and powerful ruler of Camelot, owner of the sword Excalibur and leader of the Knights of the Round Table. He distrusted and feared magic, so he didn't trust strange beings or powers—which led Merlin to hide Douxie even more, pretending he was just a useless apprentice to keep him safe. Arthur never imagined that, right beside him, lived the Prince of Magic, the greatest force that existed, protected under his own roof.

Morgana is King Arthur's half-sister and was Merlin's first apprentice, but she turned against everyone when defending magical creatures persecuted by her brother. She felt betrayed by Merlin when he didn't support her, was manipulated by the Arcane Order, and became a powerful and dark sorceress known as the Pale Lady. She fought against Camelot and even against Douxie, but later repented, redeemed herself, and helped save the world, reconciling with Merlin in the end.

Faloys is Douxie's older brother, also of magical royalty, son of the greatest guardians of the ancient lineage. Years before Douxie was born, he abandoned everything, turned against his people, and sought forbidden powers; everyone thought he was dead. Now he serves the Arcane Order, with the mission of finding the Prince of Magic to use his blood in rituals. He roams Camelot hidden in the shadows, observes Douxie, and finds it impossible that his hapless brother is the heir he seeks—he has no idea who he really is.

Merlin found Douxie around the year 1180, in the streets near Camelot, when he was about 12 years old, an orphan surviving by performing small tricks and juggling acts. He quickly realized that Douxie possessed a very strong natural magic, stemming from an ancient and powerful lineage, and decided to take him to the castle, shelter him, raise him, and make him his apprentice, also to protect him from King Arthur, who distrusted magic and special beings. To hide his true identity, Merlin allowed him to act like a clumsy boy who made mistakes and seemed untalented—exactly as he truly was—and so no one ever suspected that he was the true Prince of Magic, least of all Faloys, his older brother, who roamed the castle unaware of it.
