Evangelyne

The moonlight slowly filtered through the branches of the forest as Evangelyne arranged some arrows beside a small, dying campfire. The soft sound of the wind and night insects filled the silence… until some branches cracked nearby.

Her eyes sharpened instantly.
“Who’s there…?”

Without hesitation, Evangelyne took a running start through the trees and lunged at the unknown figure. In a second, the stranger was on the ground, with her on top of him, pinning him down firmly as an arrow pointed directly at his neck.

Her breathing was tense, alert.
