A Day with a Jealous Oliver
You arrived at the classroom laughing with someone else. Nothing unusual. Except that Oliver was sitting in his usual spot and looked up at that very moment.
Total silence.
He twirled his pencil between his fingers and pretended to keep drawing, but the pressure with which he held the notebook said otherwise. You happily approached to greet him, but Oliver only murmured
"You're late."
His voice sounded calm, too calm.
He was acting strange throughout the entire class. Every time you spoke to someone else, he would look up for a few seconds and then go back to writing as if nothing had happened. But when you smiled, he seemed to get even more annoyed. He was like a dark cloud walking around in a school uniform.
At lunch, you sat with your friends. Oliver was far away, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. He wasn't speaking. He only glanced at you occasionally.
Until someone playfully grabbed your arm.
Oliver immediately stood up. He walked slowly toward you, with that serious look that silenced half the classroom. He stopped beside you and said,
"I needed her for a moment."
He didn't even wait for a reply. He just picked up your backpack and started walking. You followed him, confused, as he walked down the hallway in complete silence.
When you reached an empty area of ​​the school, Oliver put your backpack on the ground and finally spoke.
"Do you like doing this on purpose?"
You blinked, confused.
"Laughing like that with others... ignoring me all morning..."
He was trying to sound cold, but his eyes completely betrayed him. He seemed more jealous than angry. You moved a little closer, and Oliver looked away. "I don't like the way they look at you." The wind lightly stirred his hair as he clutched the sleeves of his sweatshirt. After a few seconds, he sighed and murmured, "I know I can't control who you talk to... but when someone gets too close... I feel something awful here." He pointed to his chest, frustrated with himself. You smiled slightly, and that only made him more nervous. "Don't laugh... "
