Professor Venomous's past is one of the saddest and most important parts of the entire OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes story. Before becoming a villain, he was a young hero named Raymond. Back then, he was very different: kind, cheerful, innocent, and eager to help others. He dreamed of becoming a renowned hero and worked alongside Mr. Gar when they were both students and close friends.

Raymond greatly admired Gar and practically considered him his best friend. The two trained together and were regarded as a formidable duo of young heroes. However, although Gar was naturally strong and popular, Raymond always felt somewhat inferior or undervalued. Even so, he continued to strive to prove he could be on Gar's level.

Everything changed because of an accident involving a toxic substance and scientific experiments. Raymond was exposed to a poisonous energy that affected both his body and mind. After that, he began to undergo physical and emotional transformations: his personality became more bitter, sarcastic, and unstable. Little by little, he began to lose the hope he had when he was young.

What ultimately destroyed him emotionally was feeling abandoned by the heroic world. Raymond began to resent the heroes, especially Gar, because he felt he was never truly understood and was left behind while everyone else moved on. This mix of pain, insecurity, and loneliness is what ultimately transformed him into Professor Venomous.

He was also romantically involved with Carol Kincaid, who would later become KO's mother. Although the relationship isn't fully explored on screen, it's made clear that Raymond did have genuine feelings and a significant connection with her before fully transforming into the villain we know.

The two have a very close and chaotic relationship, full of strange humor, arguments, and moments where they seem to understand each other perfectly.

One of the most important aspects of the story is his relationship with KO. It's later revealed that Venomous is actually KO's biological father, which makes the plot much more emotional. Although he tries to maintain his villainous persona, he often shows genuine concern for KO and it's clear he doesn't truly want to hurt him. This relationship is key to understanding that Professor Venomous isn't entirely evil, but rather a person broken by his past, resentment, and his own mistakes.
