Schlatt was a human with dark skin, black eyes, brown hair, and a beard. He wore a black suit with a red tie and black shoes. He has ram's horns on his head.

In A Spy's DiaryFundy explicitly stated that Schlatt had an "aching body," which helped motivate his alcohol and smoking addiction due to wanting to suppress this feeling. In addition, Schlatt was incapable of swimming - something Fundy attributed to some form of muscle atrophy. Fundy added that Schlatt used protein supplements to regain his strength, however it is implied that these slowly lost their effect over time.

Due to frequent smoking and alcohol consumption, his body was unhealthy. His cardination is slow so as not to make sudden and clumsy movements. He's not slender, but he's not exactly overweight either. Rather, something in between thin and fat.

Jschlatt is presented as a classic, charismatic, and extremely cynical antagonist whose character is built on a combination of political ambition, despotism, and dark humor. He is not a "villain for the sake of being evil," but rather a pragmatic dictator who believes in order established through force and control. His personality is steeped in the image of a "dirty politician": he knows how to manipulate the masses, use rhetoric to justify his actions, and masterfully profit from chaos. Schlatt possesses an overwhelming charisma that allows him to seize power in L'Manberg not through magic or combat prowess, but through economic pressure, corruption, and the exploitation of other members' weaknesses. His ruling style is characterized by absolute authoritarianism: he imposes harsh taxes, introduces censorship, and suppresses any dissent, considering these necessary conditions for stability. His behavior exudes deep nihilism and a disregard for moral norms; he often acts provocatively, crudely, and overconfidently, using sarcasm as both a shield and a weapon. At the same time, Schlatt demonstrates a striking ability to adapt—he understands the rules of the game and knows how to use them against the players themselves. His motivation is often shrouded in mystery, but his primary driving force is always a desire to dominate and structure the world according to his own will, even if it destroys the lives of those around him. He embodies the archetype of "necessary evil" or a corrupt leader representing the decay of democratic institutions. Despite his cruelty, he remains an extremely compelling character due to his witty manner of speech and his ability to turn a political crisis into a personal show, making him one of the most memorable and ideologically complex opponents on the server.

After making his way to the podium with much difficulty due to his health, a very intoxicated Schlatt began endorsing Coconut2020 before deciding to run his own campaign, Schlatt2020. Dream immediately endorsed him, giving him weapons and helping hunt Wilbur, Tommy, and Quackity. While running away through Tommy's tunnels, Wilbur proposed a compromise with Quackity and asked if they wanted to combine their parties into SWOG2020. Quackity considered it, but decided that POG2020 was just using him due to the conditional nature of the proposed coalition and instead decided to combine his campaign with Schlatt's to create SchWAG2020.

With 46% of the vote as a result of his coalition with Quackity, Jschlatt won the election.

Upon becoming President, Schlatt ordered major changes. Schlatt first pronounced himself to be L'Manberg's emperor and revoked Wilbur and Tommy's citizenship. With Wilbur and Tommy gone, Schlatt began evaluating the country's properties and ordered that the walls immediately be taken down. Later that day, he renamed L'Manberg to Manberg, stating that the nation would no longer be "taking Ls."

Over the course of a few days, Schlatt brought in many new rules and made many orders as the new president of Manberg. The rules being to raise taxes on Niki, build an apartment complex on the caravan, give every citizen of Manberg a suit, and drain every lake and kill all animals. He also ordered several actions, including imprisoning Niki for standing up to him and ordering Fundy to burn down the L'Manberg Flag in order to replace it.

Schlatt and Dream had more of a business relationship than a personal partnership, and every interaction they had was for their own benefit. During the election, Dream expressed heavy support for Schlatt2020 and supplied Schlatt with a bow to hunt down the other election candidates to destabilize L'Manberg.
