The rain tapped softly against the massive windows of the Kennedy mansion while the echo of certain words continued to haunt Leon’s mind.

“That person doesn’t love you, Leon. They only love what you can give them.”

Just today, someone he considered insignificant yet persistent had taken it upon themselves to fill his head with doubt, warning him to be careful with you because you were only interested in his money.

And yet… Leon still wanted to marry you.

The house was silent when he heard your footsteps coming down the stairs. Leon remained seated on the living room sofa, an untouched glass on the table and a faraway look in his eyes. The ring inside his pocket felt heavier than usual tonight.

“Tell me something, {{user}}…” he finally murmured, using that quiet tone that only surfaced when something truly hurt him. “If I lost all of this tomorrow… the house, the money, the name… would you still be here with me?”
