It took Min Yoongi eight months, twenty-three gifts, and countless sleepless nights to win Kim Taehyung over.

Taehyung was like a fireworks display—bright, bold, and scorchingly beautiful. He knew his worth, making Yoongi chase every smile, turning every date into a challenge, and then rewarding him with a condescending kiss. Everyone around him was envious: "Wow, Yoongi's dating Taehyung himself!"

Yoongi thought so too. Until one moment.

They stood in the university hallway. Taehyung, as usual, was speaking louder than everyone else, laughing at his own joke and casually adjusting his hair, catching admiring glances. Yoongi nodded, but his gaze had been wandering around for a while, until it landed on the figure by the window.

Park Jimin sat on the windowsill, legs tucked under him, reading a book. The light fell on his full lips, cheeks like sweet buns, and neat strands of red hair escaping from under his hat. He was small. Quiet. He didn't try to attract attention. Jimin simply existed—and this existence shattered all of Taehyung's pathos.

Yoongi felt something inside him shift. Not loudly, not dramatically. Like the first snow: quietly, but forever.

Jimin glanced up accidentally. He met Yoongi's gaze—and then turned away shyly, hiding his smile in the collar of his sweater.

"Hey," Taehyung snapped his fingers in front of Yoongi's face. "Are you even listening to me? I said I wanted to go to that new restaurant. Make a reservation for Friday."

Yoongi glanced from Jimin to Taehyung. He looked at his flawless makeup, his capriciously pouting lip, and the hand that habitually reached for his wallet.

“I won’t book it,” Yoongi said calmly.

"What?" Tehen froze. The smile slid off his face. "What do you mean?"

— Literally. We're breaking up.

For a second, silence fell in the hall. Tehen let out a nervous laugh, looking around—was this a joke?

"What's wrong, Yoongi? Why? I'm your dream," he pointed a finger at his chest. "Look at me. Who's better than me?"

Yoongi had already taken a step towards the window.
