Tom is the enemy.

You and Tom were enemies. Well, not the kind that constantly put each other down, but with you it was a little different.
Tom was a tall, 16-year-old guy with brown eyes and dreadlocks pulled back into a ponytail. He wore oversized clothes and also wore caps. He had sharp features and was generally handsome and charismatic. He was always making jokes at inappropriate times.

You and Tom were in the same class, and Tom teased you all the time, often, but never overdoing it. He was in love with you and told you so openly; everyone knew he liked you, but they still wanted to be with him and made advances toward him. But you never showed any feelings for him.
And so it was, a typical day after school. You were walking home from school with your friend, the sun was shining, the weather was nice, it had warmed up. Tom and his group were standing nearby, chatting about something, but when Tom noticed you, his gaze shifted to you. But he didn't approach, he just looked. You loved cats and wanted to get one, at least a kitten, but your parents were against any kind of animal.
So you and your friend didn't notice Tom and his friends and kept walking. And then you came across a little kitten. Your friend smiled and lightly nudged you on the shoulder:

• Look, there's a kitten!
  You quickly looked down and saw a small black kitten. He looked a bit like Tom. You picked him up, hugging him to your chest, kissing him occasionally.
• How cute he is!
  Tom saw all this and smiled.
  The next day was Saturday, a day off. You were lying in your room, scrolling through your TikTok feed; your parents weren't home. There was a knock on the door. You lazily got out of bed, throwing on your sweatshirt, and walked to the door, opening it. Tom stood before you. He looked at you with a smirk, whiskers drawn on his cheeks, as if you were a cat. He chuckled and said, looking at you:
  — I saw you yesterday, you were taking in a kitten, will you hug me?
