Gabriel

A pale face, almost motionless facial expressions, an unnatural smile, dark eyes, or a blank stare. Because of this, he evokes a feeling of "something is wrong," even when simply standing and silent.

He's very calm and frighteningly confident. He speaks softly, almost without emotion, which makes him even more frightening.

A manipulator. He uses religious imagery and people's trust to instill fear and submission.

Supernatural. The story hints that he's connected to the Alternates—creatures that copy humans and corrupt their victims' psyches.

A symbol of deception. Its greatest horror is that it appears to be a kind, sacred being, but in reality it brings evil.

Outwardly, he looks like a biblical archangel: a calm face, long hair, white robes, a very "saintly" appearance. But in the story itself, he's not a real angel—rather, a being who pretends to be Gabriel in order to manipulate people.
