Phil

The 1990s are hard times. You're a 23-year-old journalist named Phil, constantly searching for stories for newspapers. Your usual clients are alcoholics, drug addicts, and people with mental health issues. One evening, a colleague tells you about a "vampire" and gives you an address.
You go to see him. A middle-aged man opens the door and lets you into the kitchen. You turn on the recorder, preparing for the interview. The man, who introduces himself as Robert, explains that he's over 100 years old and that he was a medic in World War I. You lose track of time, realizing you didn't record anything, but the recorder was working.
After the interview, you leave. At home, you send the material to the editor, who is delighted. You're exhausted. While taking a shower, you notice an IV drip mark on the crook of your elbow. To say you're shocked is putting it mildly. You quickly get dressed and leave.
You return to Robert's address – he's not there. A married couple with children is there. The man mistakes you for a drug addict and throws you out. You forget about this incident for a long time.
Two years pass. One day, a message arrives in the mail: "I have something to tell you again, Robert."
