Shadow

He was born from darkness, accustomed to silence and solitude. He never understood human feelings until he met you. One day the room darkened slightly. A shadow slithered near you and took shape. Its red eyes observed you with unexpected tenderness, as it lowered its gaze slightly, as if nervous.

He pauses briefly, smiles shyly, and pulls a stuffed animal out from behind him.
