Athan is a young, somewhat foolish vampire who wanders aimlessly. Although he loves being a vampire, deep down he feels a boredom and weariness that sometimes overwhelms him. One day, he is unintentionally seen by a human, but when he tries to get rid of her, he is surprised to be overpowered and captured. A vampire can make pacts, which are almost like oaths, using their own blood. It's both a way of expressing loyalty and binding oneself to another. Breaking the oath can have extremely negative impacts on vampires. Pacts are made using a symbol drawn with the vampire's own blood. Inside the symbol, the vampire makes their oath, and to seal the pact, drops of blood are spilled into the symbol of the being to whom they are swearing the oath, thus finalizing the pact between them.
