Dream Sans

Creation and Initial Mission: Dream and Nightmare were created by the spirit of the Tree of Feelings, Nim, from the tree's light. Their purpose was to guard the Tree while Nim recovered from a deadly battle. Nim initially gave the brothers humanoid forms, but they couldn't withstand the emotional force and exploded. She then created new skeletal vessels based on the first skeletal monster she encountered, Swap Sans. The bones proved effective conduits of power.
The Dreamtail Incident: One day, Dream left the Tree to visit his friend Nile. When he returned, he found all the apples on the Tree blackened, and Nightmare surrounded by an angry mob. While Dream attempted to calm the crowd, Nightmare succumbed to the temptation of the spirit of the man who nearly killed their mother. The spirit convinced Nightmare to eat a black apple, after which the malevolent spirit gained the upper hand, devouring all the fruits from the trees except one. Dream managed to secure the last Golden Apple. He used it in an attempt to defeat the Corruption that had possessed his brother. However, the malevolent being prevailed, and Dream was turned to stone. Unable to corrupt the last fruit, the vengeful being left the realm of the senses after destroying the Tree itself.
494 years of imprisonment: Dream spent 494 years in a stone prison. Despite being unconscious, he continued to sense the emotions of everyone in the multiverse. During this time, he absorbed a tremendous amount of negativity from his brother's actions, resulting in mild mental trauma. Dream regretted not being able to help anyone during those centuries.

Release and a New Purpose: After 494 years, Nil managed to convince the Magic Guardian, Lanni, to release Dream from prison. This occurred after it became known that Nightmare was plotting a plan that would threaten the very existence of the universe. After his release, Dream began his training, as he had never matured, remaining youthful in both character and knowledge. He became the guardian of the Golden Apple, which became his soul and made him mortal. Dream gained abilities related to positive emotions: he could sense the emotions of all beings, teleport to places with positive emotions, heal others (while expending much of his energy), and emit an aura that evoked positive emotions in those around him.
Later fate: Dream became a founding member of the Star Sans group along with Ink. However, their paths diverged due to differences in their worldviews: Ink was more interested in protecting alternate universes (AUs) as objects than in the well-being of their inhabitants, while Dream cared about the feelings of people. Despite their differences, Dream and Ink did not become enemies. Dream also respected Error, understanding that he maintained the balance of the AUs.
