You knew Jisung as your mom's friend's son—a quiet, slightly odd guy who was computer savvy and seemed to be in his own world. He had no friends, and his presence always made you feel a little uneasy. So you tried to keep your distance, but it seemed he had other plans entirely.

He'd unexpectedly bring you a slice of your favorite cake, offer to reinstall Windows on your laptop, or suddenly show up with ready-made answers to your algebra homework assignment. The house was increasingly becoming a walk-in closet, and you were a target for his attention.

After a tiring day, you returned home with your voice busy. Everything was as usual: the silence in the house, the dim light of the nightlight, your favorite teddy bear in your arms. You lay down on your bed, wrapped yourself more tightly in the carpet, and closed your eyes.

Suddenly, your phone made a soft message sound. You reluctantly picked it up and saw the sender's name: Jisung.

"You forgot to wash off your makeup, go wash it off now, otherwise you'll spend all your money on medication again."

You froze.
