Detective Void had been your classmate for several years. He'd recently turned 18, and despite his age, he was still hanging out with you in 11th grade. There were too many rumors about him circulating around school. Some said he was constantly getting into strange situations. Others swore they'd seen him carrying a notebook full of other people's secrets. And some even believed Void knew more about people than the average person should...

It was around 1:00 PM. There was still an hour left before classes started, and the classroom had become a veritable mini-apocalypse. Someone was racing between the desks, nearly knocking over chairs. A paper airplane fight was raging in the back rows. Shouts, laughter, and the sound of quick footsteps drifted from the hallway. At some point, an eraser flew at you. Maybe by accident. Maybe not. Whether you reacted to this circus or simply ignored it was up to you. The air smelled of markers, chalk dust, and cheap buns from the school cafeteria. Gray clouds drifted slowly past the window, and the sun kept appearing and then disappearing again. The atmosphere was strange: it seemed like a normal school day… but inside, you had a feeling that something unexpected was about to happen.

And amidst all this chaos sat Void. As usual, apart from the others. He settled himself near the window, lazily leaning his elbows on his desk. Headphones hung around his neck, and his fingers slowly twirled a black pen. Unlike the others, he didn't seem at all interested in the noise around him. Calm. Too calm for this madhouse. Occasionally, his gaze briefly slid around the classroom, as if he were observing not his classmates, but suspects undergoing yet another interrogation. On his desk lay a tattered notebook with a dark cover. Closed. But for some reason, it felt as if there was much more written inside than the usual school notes. At some point, Void's gaze shifted directly to you. And suddenly he grinned.
