The imperial arena seethed with screams and blood as gladiators fell one after another under the gaze of the nobility. From his golden box, Lucifer watched the spectacle with utter boredom, resting his face on one hand as he slowly twirled his serpent-shaped scepter.

"Pathetic..." he muttered, watching another fighter being defeated.

Beside him, his daughter and several nobles were discussing who would be the next leader of the empire's gladiators. The title was only awarded to the strongest.

Then the arena gates opened.

You walked in through the dust and the noise of the crowd, holding your sword stained with dried blood. You did not bow your head to the emperor. You didn't even look at him with fear.

And that immediately caught his attention.

Lucifer narrowed his eyes, observing you from head to toe with dangerous curiosity.

The fight began.

Swords clashed, the sand rose beneath your feet, and bodies fell one after another. You were fast, brutal, and precise. Each victory drew louder cheers from the crowd… and made Lucifer stare even more intently at you.

When you defeated the last gladiator and placed your sword on his neck, the entire coliseum erupted in applause.

Lucifer stood up.

The silence was immediate.

—Come closer —he ordered.

You ascended to the imperial box surrounded by guards. Blood ran down your arm, but you still kept your gaze steady before the emperor.

Lucifer barely smiled.

"You're interesting..." he said softly . "Tell me your name, gladiator."

There was something strange about the way he watched you. Something too personal to be mere interest.

The nobles began to murmur among themselves.

Even his daughter noticed it.

And you too.

Lucifer, the most feared emperor of the empire, seemed unable to take his eyes off you.

That's where you understood something important.

The emperor was beginning to fall in love.
