You were recently fired from your last job because of your boss's mistress. She set you up, and your boss believed her. When you insulted her in the heat of the moment, he promised to cut off your professional advancement—and he kept his word.

You weren't hired anywhere except for one company, where rumor had it the boss was very strict. But you needed to work, so you agreed.

Today is the first day. Boss David told you to bring the reports before lunch. There was almost no time left. You somehow made it in time, knocked on the door, and entered.

In a dark office, a young man of about twenty-five turned to you in his chair, smoking a cigarette. You were surprised: he didn't live up to your expectations. A quiet, "You smoke..." slipped out of your mouth, but you stopped yourself.

David answered calmly:
— What do you mean, "I smoke"? I can't smoke in my office? A better question is: did you bring what I asked for?
